Weekly Differential

Weekly Differential work rules allow you to add "extra" pay based on weekly hours worked. Earnings are fixed dollar amounts paid for time worked during the time range.

The Weekly Differential work rule type includes the following work rules:

Weekly Hours Fixed Earning

Description

Creates a fixed dollar earning for the home job if the weekly hours for all jobs fall between the minimum and maximum specified hours. The earning is paid on the week ending date.

Day of Week, Weekly Hours, Rate Factor

Description

Creates an earning for the Home Job, for the weekly hours worked if the employee works on a specified day of the week. 

Example(s)If the rule is set to trigger when an employee works a Sunday shift, an earning will be generated for the week based on how this rule is configured.

Factor to apply against the Rate X Hours calculation.

Earning Total Dollars = Hours X Rate X Factor.

DOW Hours Fixed Earning

Description

Creates a fixed dollar earning for the home job, for each selected day, if the daily hours for all jobs falls between the minimum and maximum hours.

Daily Spread

Description

Creates a fixed hour earning for the home job for each day, if the spread of hours, from the first punch of the day to the last punch of the day, is over the minimum

Salaried Minimum Wage Earning

Description

Creates a dollar earning for the Home job at the end of the period, if salaried earnings for the period are less than minimum wage.

The salary for the period is calculated as Annual Rate / Pay Periods per year.

Hours Threshold Fixed Earning

Description

Creates a fixed dollar earning for any shift longer than the specified minimum hours.

For example, Meal Credits.

Maximum Weekly Occurrences
Maximum number of shifts on which the earning can be paid each week.

Note: This is not the number of days, but the number of shifts.

For example, if an employee works a split shift and each shift is at least four hours (the minimum number of hours required), this would count as two occurrences.

Minimum Hours

Minimum number of hours the employee must work before the earning can be applied.

Use Actual Punch Time

If selected, the system will use the employee's actual punch time, rather than rounding.

Daily/Weekly Guaranteed Hours

Description
Ensures that the employee is paid for a minimum number of hours, on a daily and weekly basis, by creating a negative or positive hours-based earning. 

Note:If an employee's status changes midweek, a manual adjustment may be required.

Earning Type

Earning type to be applied when the employee is above or below the configured number of minimum/maximum hours.

Factor

Maximum Daily Hours

Maximum number of hours an employee may be paid each day.

If the employee works more than the configured Maximum Daily Hours, the configured earning type is applied so that the employee’s hours equal the configured Maximum Daily Hours.

Maximum Weekly Hours

Maximum number of hours an employee may be paid for each week.

If the employee works more than the configured Maximum Weekly Hours, the configured earning type is applied so that the employee’s hours equal the configured Maximum Weekly Hours.

Minimum Daily Hours

Minimum number of hours an employee must be paid each day.

If the employee works fewer than the configured Minimum Daily Hours, the configured earning type is applied so that the employee’s hours equal the configured Minimum Daily Hours.

Minimum Weekly Hours

Minimum number of hours an employee must be paid each week.

If the employee works fewer than the configured Minimum Weekly Hours, the configured earning type is applied so that the employee’s hours equal the configured Minimum Weekly Hours.
