Shift Correction

Shift Correction work rules make corrections to employee shifts that have errors.

The Shift Correction work rule type includes the following work rules:

Out Punch Correction

Description

Corrects shifts with missing Out punches by creating an Out punch, using the In punch plus the Daily Hours.

Example(s)If an employee punches In at 7:00 AM and Daily Hours is set to 8, the Out punch will be 3:00 PM.
ParametersParameterDescription
Daily Hours

Number of hours added to the In punch, to create the Out punch.

Shift Category Correction

Description

Corrects the shift category if it matches the schedule start time of a shift within that category.

Example(s)When an employee is scheduled for training, the actual time clock shift is attributed to Training.
ParametersParameterDescription
Grace Post Schedule End

Number of minutes, after a shift ends, that an employee can punch OUT and still have the shift match the schedule.

For example, if the grace period is 60 minutes and an employee punches OUT 65 minutes after their shift ends, the shift will not be matched. If they punch OUT 55 minutes after their shift ends, points would be assessed if the punches fall outside the other parameters.

Grace Pre Schedule Start

Number of minutes after a shift starts, that an employee can punch IN and still have the shift match the schedule.

For example, if the grace period is 60 minutes and an employee punches IN 65 minutes after their shift starts, the shift will not be matched. If they punch in IN 55 minutes after their shift starts, points would be assessed if the punches fall outside the other parameters.

Verify Job

If selected, the job must match the job the employee was scheduled to work.

Split to Schedule

Description

Splits the shift and distributes the employee's hours according to their scheduled jobs and shift categories, if more than one job is worked during the shift. This allows an employee who is scheduled for different jobs during their shift, to punch In once and Out once.

ParametersParameterDescription
Include Manager Edits

If selected, the rule will also apply to shifts that a manager has edited.

Priority

Determines the execution order of a rule set. Lower numbers execute first. The default value is 5.

The priority for other rules is set at the top level. The priority for this rule is set at the Rule level.
