Budget Datasets
(Budgeting)Â Budget Datasets have two main purposes: 1) it allows you to associate Line Config Sets with datasets and 2) it allows the System Administrator to lock specific datasets, so the data can't be changed. This is helpful if you have datasets that you don't ever want to be changed.
Line Config Sets allow you to make changes in the way your detail budget lines are calculated, while preserving the original configuration. For example, you may have a fixed budget line in your 2006 original budget but you need that line to be a market segment line for your 2007 original. You would create a Line Config Set, change the budget line type in the Edit/View Budget Line screen, and associate it with the 2007 original in this tab.
