Prioritizing Jobs & Assignments

The Prioritize Jobs task allows you to designate specific jobs to be scheduled first, regardless of any other scheduling parameters you may have chosen. This task is used primarily when there is a shortage of employees and you want to be sure that certain jobs are filled first with employees who are cross-trained, and might not have been scheduled in this job under normal staffing levels.

Add Job (green + icon)

Allows you to add jobs to the prioritization list.

Group No

Allows you to group jobs so that when you Prioritize Assignments, the assignments are grouped into one job. This is helpful if you have two properties that are close in proximity and have common assignments. For example, you need six bartenders at Property 1 and six bartenders at Property 2, but you only have a total of 10 bartenders available. If you do not group the bartender jobs,

RMS

would schedule six bartenders at Property 1 and four bartenders at Property 2. If grouped,

RMS

would schedule five bartenders at each property.
You must enter the same number in each of the Group No. boxes beside the jobs you want to group. For example, if you want to group AAA/AAA/B1 and AAA/AAA/B2 you would put a 1 in box Group No. boxes. Grouped jobs appear as a separate choice in the job class drop-down list of the Prioritize Assignments task.

Move Up/Move Down

Allows you to prioritize the order in which jobs are scheduled. Jobs at the top of the list are scheduled first. Clicking the arrows moves the Job to a new position. Continue clicking the arrow until the Job is in the appropriate position.

About Prioritizing Assignments

Prioritizing Assignments allows you to designate which assignments are to be scheduled before other assignments, regardless of any other scheduling parameters you may have chosen. This task is used primarily when there is a shortage of employees and you want to be sure that certain assignments are filled first with employees who are cross-trained, and might not have been scheduled in this job under normal staffing levels. Any assignments that are not prioritized will be scheduled after prioritized assignments have been scheduled.
