Labor Standards Redesign
The method of creating and configuring Labor Standards has been totally re-designed. Previously, you configured Standards in a tab under System Setup > Labor Structure. Now there is a new menu item under System Setup called Labor Standards. There are several tabs that need to be configured.

  8.x Standard screen   Â
  9.x Standard screen
- Labor Standards: Terms & Definitions
- Shifts configuration has been simplified.
- Staffing configuration has been simplified.
- Spread Standards configuration has been simplified.
- Now have ability to configure task-related standards vs. job-related standards. This means you have much greater control at different levels. Tasks can be created and assigned a Reasonable Expectancy (RE) and Frequency to determine task-based work at different volume levels. This allows for much greater granularity and specificity in the build up of semi variable work content in a labor standard.
- All settings that impact the generation of labor can now be controlled by Standard Sets. In 8.x, only the actual Standards themselves were controlled by Standard Sets. Items like Min/Max Shift length, Shift configuration, etc., were not controllable by Standard Sets.
- All values on the Planner Settings tab are inherited from the Property level down, but can be overridden at any level.
- Period Length can now be controlled at any level. Previously the Period Length was global to the whole property.Â
- New Standard Type called Simple Non-Flowed.
- The Unit of Measure and Distribution Method have been de-coupled from the Job so that you have more flexibility in how the standards are configured. This allows more flexibility in how you calculate and distribute the work.
- There is no longer a tree on the left. Breadcrumbs across the top of the screen allow you to drill down and set Labor Standards at each level (division, department, job, assignment).
