Allowing and restricting schedule editing  (21724)

The release includes enhanced functionality for defining schedule states for schedules in

RMS

. Schedule states specify whether employee schedules can be edited.

The Manage Schedules screen now allows you to restrict or allow the schedule editing for all or selected labor structure levels. The screen features a Change Schedule State menu from which you can select options to restrict or allow schedule editing for the job in the selected planning period.

Note: In previous releases you locked the schedule state for all planning periods. In this release, you lock the schedule state for a specified planning period.

The Scheduling screen includes several improvements:

  • You receive a notification if the jobs that you are viewing have had their schedule state updated.
  • If you select a job that is closed for editing, you are notified that schedule editing is restricted.
  • The shift card indicates whether jobs are currently closed for editing.
  • You cannot add, delete, or edit a shift for a job that is currently closed for editing.
  • When adding a shift, if the home job is closed for editing, the default is the next available job.
  • If a shift is closed for editing, you can only view the shift data in the shift details section.
  • You cannot assign open shifts to a job that is closed for editing.
  • You cannot drop shifts for employees with home jobs that are closed for editing.
  • You cannot drag a shift from one employee and drop to another who has a job that is closed for editing.
  • Jobs in Edit Job lists are unavailable if the schedule is closed for editing.
  • If a job is closed for editing, you cannot generate schedules or restore autoschedules for that job.
  • You cannot copy schedules for a job that is closed for editing in the period to which you are copying.

The Security screen includes a new Schedule State permission to activate the Change Schedule State functionality.
