Re-Forecasting Budget Lines

KBI, Market Segment, Revenue Center, and Percent of Base budget lines are edited in the Cost Structures tab and are all edited in the same way. The General, Allocations and Results tabs are view-only.

You can edit the following in the Cost Structures tab:

Rate Table

Represents the dollar amounts that you spend on a given item if the line represents an expense or the amount you make if the line represents revenue. You may step the rates, based on volume, or you may have one rate no matter the volume. Because you name the units, the labels for this table will vary (ADR, Avg. Wage, Cost/Unit, etc.). They will also vary by type of budget line.


Percentage Table

Represents the percentage of the base line's total dollars that you spend on a given item if the line represents an expense or the amount you make if the line represents revenue. You may step the rates, based on volume, or you may have one rate no matter the volume.

Factor

Adjust for circumstances.


Fixed ($)

Enter amounts that are the same every period.


From Volume/ To Volume

Denotes the volume range(s) of the standard.



Re-Forecasting KBI, Market Segment, Revenue Center & Percent of Base Lines

To edit the Cost Structures tab for KBI, Market Segment, Revenue Center and Percent of Base lines:

  1. Select the Cost Structures tab.
  2. Determine if you need to add or edit Cost Structures ranges.
    • If you are adding ranges:
      1. Click the Add Range icon.
      2. Enter a From Volume/To Volume.
      3. Enter the appropriate data in the Period field.
    • If you are editing ranges:
      1. Triple-click in the cell to be edited and enter the new data.
  3. (Optional) Repeat Step 2 for each Cost Structure you need to add and/or edit.
  4. Click OK.

About Re-Forecasting Job Class Lines

Job class lines are edited the same way as KBI lines, except that there are no ranges, and the Rate Table is used to enter the Avg. Wage ($).

Re-Forecasting Job Class Lines

To edit the Cost Structures tab for job class lines:

  1. Select the Cost Structures tab.
  2.  Determine which Cost Structures you need to edit.
  3. Triple-click in the cell to be edited, and enter the new data into the Period field.
  4. (Optional) Repeat Step 3 for each Period and Cost Structure you need to edit.
  5. Click OK.


Re-Forecasting Fixed Lines

To edit the Cost Structures tab:

  1. Select the Cost Structures tab.
  2. Determine which Cost Structures you need to edit.
  3. Triple-click in the cell to be edited, and enter the new data into the Period field.
  4. Repeat Step 3 for each Period and each Cost Structure you need to edit.
  5. Click OK.
