New Budgets

The first time you use Budgeting, and at least once each year, you will need to create a new budget. In addition, you might want to create a completely new budget after a renovation, significant uptick or downturn in business, or pending sale of property.

Budgets are created in two ways: by creating new datasets or by copying existing datasets. Copying a budget can save you a significant amount of time, as it precludes you from having to manually enter data for every line item. You select a previous dataset where much of the data is still applicable, copy that dataset, and edit data that is no longer accurate.

If you are using existing datasets to copy from and to, proceed to Copying a Dataset-Budget. If you need to create new datasets before you can copy, you should proceed to User-Defined Types.
