Viewing Profit
About Viewing Profit
The View Profit screen allows you to view data in several different ways:
- Summary data
- Detail lines on a line-by-line basis
- Budget line configuration for each detail line
- User-defined columns
- Historical data
This screen also allows you to add additional amounts to budget lines, create your Hit List and create snapshots of data.
Terms & Definitions
Allows you to add additional amounts to the budgeted numbers (if an unexpected increase occurs that was not included in the original budget). When you invoke this screen, every "child" line will display under the total line you highlight on the View Profit screen. You may select all lines, clear all lines, clear amounts or just enter a number in one or multiple lines as necessary. |
|
Allows you to specify what data is displayed. |
|
History                                |
Allows you to view past data that has been captured during the Create Snapshot function. For example, on the 20th of the month you would like to see what you forecasted on the 5th of the month, you can select that History option on the drop down menu (provided you created a Snapshot on the 5th). The screen will then show what your snapshot was on that date. The history types that appear in the drop-down list are created in the Profit History Types Configuration screen. |
Generate Flex |
Allows you to access the Generate Profit Flex screen without going back to the main screen. |
Allows you to capture data on a specific day and save it for future viewing. Creating a Snapshot is like using a camera. You are creating an "un-editable dataset"; creating a picture of your expected profit for the period. This is useful because it allows you to compare data. For example, you might want to spot check your data on the second and fourth weeks of the month and compare the data to the second and fourth weeks of other months so you can monitor trends, etc. Results from this process are viewable through the History function. |
At any time, you can double click on a line and you will see the PTD Actual, PE Amount, RP Amount, any Additional Amounts, and Flex Amounts. You can also view the Line Config which is where you configure your EPEP setting.
