Weekly Differential Work Rules

Weekly Differential work rules allow you to add "extra" pay based on weekly hours worked. Earnings are fixed dollar amounts paid for time worked during the time range.

Criteria

  • No Earning. Denotes that no Weekly Differential rules apply.
  • Weekly Hours Fixed Earning. Creates a fixed dollar earning for the home job if the weekly hours for all jobs fall between the minimum and maximum specified hours.  The earning is paid on the week ending date. 
    • Dollars. Denotes the dollar amount of the earning.
    • Earning. Allows you to select the Earning Type to which the dollar amount should be assigned.
    • Maximum Hours. Denotes the maximum number of hours for which the differential pay can be applied.
    • Minimum Hours. Denotes the minimum number of hours for which the differential pay can be applied.
    • Use Actual Punch Time. Denotes that punch times should not be rounded, if selected. If not selected, rounded times would be used.
  • Day of Week, Weekly Hours, Rate Factor. Creates an earning for the Home job, for the weekly hours worked if the employee works on a specified day of the week. For example, if the rule is set up to be triggered if an employee works a Sunday shift, an earning will be generated for the week based on how this rule is configured.
    • Day of Week. Allows you to determine which day of week must be worked to trigger the rule.
    • Earning. Allows you to determine the type of Earning to which the amount is assigned.
    • Factor. Allows you to determine a factor to be used against the Rate X Hours calculation.
    • Use Actual Punch Time. Denotes whether non-rounded time should be used (checked) or if rounded time should be used (unchecked).
  • DOW Hours Fixed Earning. Creates a fixed dollar earning for the home job, for each selected day, if the daily hours for all jobs falls between the min. and max hours.
    • Days of Week. Allows you to determine which days of the week the violation hours are checked. Note that any unselected days are not checked.
    • Dollars. Denotes the dollar amount of the earning.
    • Earning. Allows you to select the Earning Type to which the dollar amount should be assigned.
    • Maximum Hours. Denotes the maximum number of hours for which the differential pay can be applied.
    • Minimum Hours. Denotes the minimum number of hours for which the differential pay can be applied.
    • Use Actual Punch Time. Denotes that punch times should not be rounded, if selected. If not selected, rounded times would be used.
  • Daily Spread. Creates a fixed hour earning for the home job for each day, if the spread of hours from the first punch of the day to the last punch of the day, is over the minimum.
    • Earning. Allows you to select the Earning Type to which the earning is associated.
    • Hours. Denotes the number of hours of the earning.
    • Minimum Hours. Denotes the minimum spread of hours for the earning to be applied.
    • Use Actual Punch Time. Denotes that punch times should not be rounded, if selected. If not selected, rounded times would be used.
    • Use Minimum Wage. Allows you to determine whether minimum wages are to be used in calculating the earning. If selected, minimum wages would be used.
  • Salaried Minimum Wage Earning. Weekly Differential Creates a dollar earning for the Home job at the end of the period, if salaried earnings for the period are less than minimum wage. The salary for the period is calculated as Annual rate / Pay Periods per year.
    • Earning. Allows you to select the Earning Type to which the earning is associated.
    • Hourly Earnings. Denotes the number of hours that will count as additional actual hours for the period.
    • Minimum Wage. Denotes the minimum wage that can be paid.
    • Other Earnings. Determines other earning amounts that will count towards the total pay for the period.
  • Hours Threshold Fixed Earning. Creates a fixed dollar earning for any shift whose length is over the specified minimum hours. For example, Meal Credits. 
    • Dollars. Denotes the dollar amount of the Earning.
    • Earning. Denotes the earning to which the amount should be assigned.
    • Maximum Weekly Occurrences. Denotes the maximum number of shifts on which the earning can be paid in a week. Note that this is not the number of days, but the number of shifts. For example, if an employee works a split shift and each shift is at least four hours (the minimum number of hours required), this would count as two occurrences.
    • Minimum Hours. Denotes the minimum number of hours that must be worked before the earning can be applied.
    • Use Actual Punch Time. Denotes that non-rounded time should be used if selected.
  • Daily/Weekly Guaranteed Hours. Ensures that the employee is paid for a minimum number of hours on a daily/weekly basis by creating a negative or positive hours-based earning. 

    Note: If an employee's status changes midweek, a manual adjustment may be required.

    • Earning Type. Earning type to be applied when the employee is above or below the configured number of minimum/maximum hours.

    • Minimum Daily Hours. Minimum number of hours for which an employee must be paid each day. If the employee works more than 0 hours but less than the configured Minimum Daily Hours, the configured earning type is applied so that the employee’s hours equal the configured Minimum Daily Hours.
    • Maximum Daily Hours. Maximum number of hours for which an employee may be paid each day. If the employee works more than the configured Maximum Daily Hours, the configured earning type is applied so that the employee’s hours equal the configured Maximum Daily Hours.

    • Minimum Weekly Hours. Minimum number of hours for which an employee must be paid each week. If the employee works more than 0 hours but less than the configured Minimum Weekly Hours, the configured earning type is applied so that the employee’s hours equal the configured Minimum Weekly Hours.

    • Maximum Weekly Hours. Maximum number of hours for which an employee may be paid for each week. If the employee works more than the configured Maximum Weekly Hours, the configured earning type is applied so that the employee’s hours equal the configured Maximum Weekly Hours.

    • Rate Factor. Determine a factor to be used against the Rate X Hours calculation.
