Punch Validation

Punch Validation allows you to establish criteria for validating employee time clock punches.

Criteria

  • No In Punch Validation. Denotes that no advanced In punch validation was performed.
  • In Punch Schedule Lockout. Allows you to validate In punches based on an employee's schedule.
    • Enable Lockouts. Allows you to require validation of In punches based on an employee's schedule, if selected. If lockouts are enabled, the employee will not be allowed to punch In if they are outside the established criteria.
    • Enable Warnings. Allows you to activate warnings for In punches based on an employee's schedule, if selected. These warnings will be displayed on the time clock when the employee punches in.
    • Job Lockout Level. Allows you to determine whether validation of In punches to the scheduled job is required. If None is selected, employees will be able to clock into a job whether it is their scheduled job or not. If Warn is selected, employees will see a warning message on the time clock if they try to punch In for a job for which they are not scheduled. If Lockout is selected, the employee will not be allowed to punch In unless it is for their scheduled job.
    • Lockout Grace Post Schedule. Allows you to determine the grace period for when employees can punch In after a schedule has started. For example, if you set the grace period to be 15 minutes, an employee whose is scheduled at 08:00 but doesn't clock In until 08:16 it will not be allowed to punch in. If they punch In at 08:14 the punch would be allowed.
    • Lockout Grace Pre Schedule. Allows you to determine the grace period for when employees can punch In before a schedule has started. For example, if you set the grace period to be 15 minutes, an employee whose is scheduled at 08:00 but clocks In at 07:44 the employee will not be allowed to punch In. If they punch In at 07:46 the punch would be allowed.
    • Warning Grace Post Schedule. Allows you to determine the grace period, after a schedule has started, as to when employees will see a warning on the time clock when punching In. For example, if you set the grace period to be 15 minutes, an employee whose is scheduled at 08:00 but doesn't clock In until 08:16 the employee will receive a warning that they are punching In after the established In-punch criteria. If they punch In at 08:14 they would not see a warning.
    • Warning Grace Pre Schedule. Allows you to determine the grace period, before a schedule has started, as to when employees will see a warning on the time clock when punching In. For example, if you set the grace period to be 15 minutes, an employee whose is scheduled at 08:00 but tries to punch In at 07:44 the employee will receive a warning that they are punching In prior to the established in punch criteria . If they punch In at 07:46 they would not see a warning.
