Depending on the type of Time Clock(s) you use, data is entered into the system in one of two ways: polling the time clocks or automatic transmission. If your clock(s) require polling, you must initiate the process on the Manage Time Clocks screen. If your clock(s) automatically transmit, the process is automatically initiated.

Polling Time Clocks

For each clock that you have that requires polling, the program will call the clock through the PBX switchboard. Some properties have a time clock that is directly plugged into the computer and does not use the modem. Additionally, your property may use a direct phone line to call another direct line that is connected to the time clock. Regardless of the configuration of the connectivity of the clock, to poll the clock you must initiate the process. The clocks are not real time polling nor do they poll on their own.

To perform the polling process you select the time clock(s) you wish to poll, and click the Poll button. You can also Import data from an outside source.
