The Market Segment Analysis allows you to view your budget for selected market segments, for either the coming year or for a particular month/period.

Key Information

Shows Rooms, Business Mix, ADR and Revenue for the budgeted year and comparative period. The report automatically separates weekend results and weekday results for easy analysis.

Report Options

Base Dataset

Select data as needed. Datasets display the Year and Type of data that are grouped in an organized manner.

  • Year. Select a year of dataset.
  • Type. Select a type of dataset.

Display

Displays additional options:

  • Market Group. Select a Market Group.
  • Weekday/Weekend. Displays weekday and weekend data separately or together.
  • Annual. Allows you to see the data as annual figures.
  • Period. Allows you to see the data for a specific period.

Comparative Dataset

Consists of a Year and Type of data that are grouped in an organized manner. The Comparative Dataset is the dataset to which the Base Dataset is compared This will typically be the original budget.

  • Year. Select a year of dataset to compare.
  • Type. Select a type of dataset to compare.

Variance

Select to view the variances as Dollars/Rooms or as Percentages.

Running the Report

To run the report:

  1. Choose Market Segment Analysis from the Reports menu. The report option screen appears.
  2. Select a Year and Type for the Base Dataset.
  3. Select the appropriate View.
  4. Select a Market Group.
  5. Select or de-select Weekday/Weekend if desired.
  6. Select Annual or Period. If Period is selected select the period desired from the drop-down.
  7. Select a Year and Type for the Comparative Dataset.
  8. Select either Dollars/Rooms or Percentages for the Variance.
  9. Click the Run icon. The report is displayed.
