Fixed / Dynamic

Select one of the following radio buttons:

  • Fixed – Select if you want to add a fixed spread standard. Fixed standards are based on KBI values for the day.
  • Dynamic – Select if you want to add a dynamic spread standard. Dynamic spread standards that are based on KBI values that are in time increments less than one day.
Default: Fixed.
From / To Volume

Enter the numerals to define the volume range of the standard.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

These fields appear only if you selected the Fixed radio button.

Values can range from 1 to 99999.

If you do not care about the range, you can specify 0 in the From field and some large number that is bigger than the biggest number the KBI will ever have, in the To field. For example, you use the KBI for Total Rooms. You know that you will never have more than 500 rooms, so you would enter 1 in the From Volume field and 500 in the To Volume field.

If you use a KBI based on the number of rooms, and the time required to perform the variable work increases or decreases with higher volume, you should create and specify additional ranges. Conceivably you can have multiple ranges for each KBI. Be careful to make the top end of the range a number that is higher than you could ever encounter. In the previous example, if you set the range as 1-500 and then enter 501 rooms (because a room was sold twice in one day), RMS will ignore the 501 and return a 0 standard.

Units

Select one of the following:

  • Minute/Unit – How many minutes an employee devotes to a unit, that is, a KBI value (for example, how many minutes a server devotes to a guest.)
  • Units/Person per period – How many units associated with an employee for a given period.

This drop-down menu appears only if you selected the Dynamic radio button.
