About Spread Standards

Spread Standards are based on a previous assessment of staffing requirements on an hour-by-hour basis. Spread Standards are most commonly used for table games, but may also be used for positions for which a flow has previously been analyzed and, as a result, flexible staffing already set up.

Terms and Definitions

Shift	Allows you to determine which shift you wish to associate with the Standard.
KBI	Allows you to determine which KBI you wish to associate with the Standard.
From Volume/To Volume	Denotes the volume range of the standard. Enter 1 in the From Volume field and up to 99999 in the To Volume field, to specify the range. If you don't care about the range, you can specify 0 in the From field and some large number that is bigger than the biggest number the KBI will ever have, in the To field. For example, you use the KBI for Total Rooms. You know that you will never have more than 500 rooms, so you would enter 1 in the From Volume field and 500 in the To Volume field. Note that if you use a KBI based on the number of rooms, and the time required to perform the variable work increases or decreases with higher volume, you should create and specify additional ranges. Conceivably you can have multiple ranges for each KBI. Be careful to make the top end of the range anumber that is higher than you could ever encounter. In the previous example, if you set the range as 1-500 and then enter 501 rooms (because a room was sold twice in one day), LMS will ignore the 501 and return a 0 standard.
Days of the Week	Allows you to set separate Volumes for each day of the week. A graphical representation of the values is displayed for each day.

Configuring Spread Standards

To configure spread standards:

Select Labor Structure from the System Setup menu.
Select the job that you want to configure.
Click the Standards tab.
Select a Standard Set from the drop-down list, if you wish to use a Standard Set other than the one selected.
Click the Add KBI button to display the Add KBI dialog box.
Select the KBI that you want to attach to the job from the KBI list.
Select Spread SP.
Click Add.
Click Close.
Click the tab for the shift you wish to configure standards.
Click the Add Ranges icon.
Enter the From Volume/To Volume data in the dialog box.
Select or de-select Make Infinite. If de-selected, enter a To Volume.
Enter the values in the appropriate day and time slots.
Click OK.
