Managers can respond to when an employee sends in a shift request. This eliminates manual data re-entryrearrange employees schedules based on when they are scheduled for a shift. Once a request is responded to, the schedule for the employee is immediately updated.
To respond to a shift request:
- Access the Time Off Request screen by doing one of the following:
- In the toolbar, click the Main Menu icon ( ).
- From the drop-down list under the Time and Attendance section, click select Employee Requests.
The Employee Requests screen appears in a separate tab.
Or
- On the home screen, click Daily Operations.
- Click the Employee Request Icon icon ( ).
The Employee Requests screen appears in a separate tab.
- From the Requests Type drop down list, select Shift Requests.
The Shift Requests screen appears. - Get to the edit wizard for a Respond to an request by doing one of the following:
- Click an employee name.
- Click Edit Request.
A dialog box appears. The name of the dialog box that corresponds to the correct request appearsdepends on the type of shift request that you are responding to.
Or
- Double click an employee name.
A dialog box appears. The name of the dialog box that corresponds to the correct request appears.

- Complete the fields as necessary.
Conflicts will be shown if there is something wrong with the request. This limits your access to certain fields and radio buttonsThe fields in the dialog box depend on the type of shift request that you are responding to. For more information, see Edit Shift Request dialog box. - Click OK.
The dialog box closes and the shift goes to schedule for the employee selected. The changes selected are now displayed on the screen.

If the request is pending and does not get approved or denied before the time requested, then the request stays as pending.
Edit First Come First Serve Request dialog box
This table describes the panes found in this dialog box.
Displays any conflicts with the request and the net cost change if the swap is made.
If a conflict is shown then it will be displayed in red and may restrict the ability to select certain portions in fields.

- Assignment - Displays the assignment, if applicable.
- Scheduled - Displays the current number of hours that an employee has scheduled.
- Schedule after Drop - Displays the number of hours that an employee has scheduled after they drop a shift.
- After Assumption - Displays the number of hours that an employee will be scheduled for after picking up a shift or swapping a shift.
Change the status of the request and select so that the employee can receive an email notification. Comments can be made to the employee about the request.
