The Daily Differential rule is configurable with a threshold and two factors, so single-time and double-time earnings for a holiday can be paid.

The Daily Differential work rule type includes the following work rules:

Holiday Differential

Description

Earnings are paid as holiday hours. Hours worked, from the minimum required hours to the secondary threshold, are paid at the primary factor. Hours worked over the secondary threshold are paid at the secondary factor.

ParametersParameterDescription
Holiday Earning

Earning type to which the holiday amount should be assigned.

Holiday Types

Holiday Type on which this Earning gets paid.

Maximum Hours Paid

The maximum number of hours an employee will be paid for the earning.

Minimum Hours Paid

The minimum number of hours an employee will be paid for the earning.

Primary Factor

If hours worked are equal to or greater than the minimum required hours and fewer than the secondary factor threshold, the primary factor is applied to the Earnings calculation.

Secondary Factor

If hours worked are equal to or greater than the secondary factor threshold, the secondary factor is applied to the Earnings calculation.

Secondary Factor Threshold

The threshold that determines whether the calculation will use the primary factor or the secondary factor.

Use Actual Punch Time

If the checkbox is selected, the system will use the employee's actual punch time, rather than rounding.

Minimum Hours Worked Differential Rule

Description

Create an earning that meets the minimum daily hours requirement but does not count toward OT and is paid as earnings, not as worked hours.

ParametersParameterDescription
Earning

Earning to which the amount should be assigned.

Factor

Factor to apply to the earning. Earning total dollars are calculated as Hours X Rate X Factor.

Min. Daily Hours

Threshold for minimum daily hours worked after which the work rule is applied.

Minimum Qualifying Hours

Minimum number of hours that employees must work to be paid for a full shift.

Days Worked Daily Differential

Description

Distribute fixed earnings to employees on days worked in the work week, based on amount of scheduled hours or worked hours (if unscheduled). Employees are disqualified from the earning if the number of worked days exceeds the Weekly Days Worked Threshold.

ParametersParameterDescription
Daily Hours Threshold

Threshold of daily worked hours. Before and up to reaching this threshold, the employee earns the first fixed earning cost. For any hours worked beyond this threshold, the employee earns the second fixed earning cost.

Earning

Earning to which the amount is assigned.

First Daily Hours Fixed Cost

Fixed amount that is paid to an eligible employee for worked hours up to and at the Daily Hours Threshold.

Second Daily Hours Fixed Cost

Fixed amount that is paid to an eligible employee when worked hours exceed the Daily Hours Threshold.

Weekly Days Worked Threshold

Number of days an employee may work before being disqualified from the earning.

Min Daily Hours Earning

No Daily Hours With Label Earning

Description

Create a fixed amount earning for a day on which the configured label matches and no hours are worked.

For example, if Monday, August 15 has a label for a required day off but there are no hours worked on that day, the system automatically creates an earning for that required day off.
