Locking a KBI set allows you to protect a KBI set with a password so that only selected users can copy, delete, or edit the KBI set.

  • If a KBI set is unlocked, only the lock button (  ) is active.
  • If a KBI set is locked, only the unlock button (  ) is active.

To lock or unlock a KBI set, do the following: 

  1. In the toolbar, click the System Setup icon (  ).
  2. From the drop-down list, select Financial > KBI Sets.
    The KBI Sets screen appears.
  3. In the KBI Sets pane, click the KBI set that you want to lock or unlock.

    Note: A locked KBI set has the text "(Locked)" next to it.

  4. Do one of the following:
    • To lock the KBI set: 
      1. In the lower left corner of the screen, click the Lock button (  ).
        The Lock KBI Set dialog box appears.
      2. In the Password field, type your password. 
      3. In the Confirm Password field, type your password again.
      4. Click OK
        The Lock KBI Set dialog box closes, and the KBI set is locked.  
    • To unlock the KBI set: 
      1. In the lower left corner of the screen, click the Unlock button (  ).
        The Unlock KBI Set dialog box appears.
      2. In the field, type your password.
      3. Click OK.
        The Unlock KBI Set dialog box closes, and the KBI set is unlocked.
