You can you your mouse and keyboard to modify and move shifts in both the Jobs and Employees views on the Timeline Scheduling screen.
Modifying shifts
You modify, or resize, a shift to change its start and/or end times. You modify a shift when you need to lengthen or shorten its duration.
Modify a shift by dragging
In the schedule pane, hover the pointer over either the left or right side of a shift bar.
When the pointer becomes a double-headed arrow, click and hold the mouse button while moving the end of the bar to the desired position.
Modifying multiple shifts by dragging
- In the schedule pane, select a group of shifts by doing one of the following:
- Hold down the Ctrl key and drag over a group of shifts.
The borders of the selected shifts are outlined.
Or - Hold down the Ctrl key and click on each shift you want to modify.
The borders of the selected shifts are outlined.
- Hold down the Ctrl key and drag over a group of shifts.
- Hover the pointer over over either the left or right side of any of the selected shift bars.
- When the pointer becomes a double-headed arrow, click and hold the mouse button while moving the end of the bar to the desired position.
All shifts in the selected group update.
Moving shifts
You can move shifts horizontally along the schedule pane when you need to reschedule a shift for an earlier or later time.
Moving a shift by dragging
In the schedule pane, hold down the Shift key and drag a shift bar either left or right on the schedule pane.
Moving multiple shifts by dragging
- In the schedule pane, select a group of shifts by doing the following:
- hold down the Ctrl key and drag over a group of shifts.
The borders of the selected shifts are outlined.
Or - Hold down the Ctrl key and click on each shift you want to move.

- hold down the Ctrl key and drag over a group of shifts.
- On any of the selected shifts, hold down the Shift key and drag the group of shift bars either left or right on the schedule pane.
All shifts in the selected group update.
