About this document

Purpose: This document provides instructions for logging in to the software and ensuring that Java is running correctly.

Audience: This document is for IT personnel and others who are responsible for ensuring connectivity of UniFocus Workforce Management software.

1. Opening the software and logging in

To open the software and log in:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.

    Note: Internet Explorer 9.0 (or later) is the only web browser you can use to launch the software.

  2. In the address bar, type "http://login.unifocus.com".
  3. Press Enter.
    The application loads.
  4. Type your Login ID and Password that your UniFocus representative has given you.
  5. Press Login.
    The software opens in a window.

2. Testing screens and tasks

Make sure that the following screens open and tasks run:

Review Pay Period

Ensure that the Review Pay Period screen opens.

To open the Review Pay Period screen, do one of the following:

  1. In the toolbar, click the Main Menu icon (  ).
  2. From the drop-down list, under the Time & Attendance section, select Review Pay Period.
    The Review Pay Period screen should appear.

Or

  1. On the home screen, click Daily Operations.

    The Daily Operation section appears at the bottom of the screen.
  2. In the Daily Operations section, click Review Pay Period.

    The Review Pay Period screen should appear.

If the screen does not appear, contact your UniFocus representative. 

Scheduling

Ensure that the Scheduling screen opens and that schedules are loading correctly.

  1.  Open the Scheduling screen by doing one of the following:
    1. In the toolbar, click the Main Menu icon (  ).
    2. From the drop-down list, under the Labor section, select Scheduling.
      The Scheduling screen should appear.

Or

    1. On the home screen, click Planning.

      The Planning section appears at the bottom of the screen.
    2. In the Planning section, click Scheduling.

      The Scheduling screen should appear.
  1. When the Scheduling screen appears, test to make sure that schedules are loading correctly:
    1. Click Select Jobs ).
    2. In the Job Selector dialog box, select check boxes for departments and jobs.
    3. Click OK.
      The dialog box closes, and the Scheduling screen updates to display schedules for the selected jobs. 

If the screen does not appear or the schedules do not load, contact your UniFocus representative.

LMS Dashboard

Ensure that the LMS Dashboard opens.

Note: If accessed from the Analytics menu ( ) in the toolbar, the module is called Labor Dashboard. If accessed from the home screen icons, the module is called LMS Dashboard.

To open the LMS Dashboard, do one of the following:

  1. In the toolbar, click the Analytics Menu icon (  ).
  2. From the drop-down list, select Labor Dashboard.
    The LMS Dashboard should appear.

Or

  1. On the home screen, click Analytics.

    The Analytics section appears at the bottom of the screen.
  2. In the Analytics section, click LMS Dashboard.

    The LMS Dashboard should appear.

If the screen does not appear, contact your UniFocus representative.

Reports

Ensure that you can run reports. For testing purposes, you can run any report. The instructions below are for the Weekly Schedule report.

To run the Weekly Schedule report:

  1. In the toolbar, click the Reports icon (  ).
  2. From the drop-down list, select Scheduling > All Scheduling > Weekly Schedule.
    The Weekly Schedule screen appears.
  3. Leave the default settings and click Run ).

    The report should appear.

If the screen does not appear or the report does not run, contact your UniFocus representative.

Export Schedules

Ensure that you can run Export Schedules in the Planning screen.

To run Export Schedules:

  1. Open the Planning screen by doing one of the following:
    1. In the toolbar, click the Main Menu icon (  ).
    2. From the drop-down list, under the Labor section, select Planning.
      The Planning screen should appear.

Or

    1. On the home screen, click Planning.

      The Analytics section appears at the bottom of the screen.
    2. In the Planning section, click Forecasting.

      The Planning screen should appear.
  1. In the upper right corner of the Planning screen, click Display advanced options ).
    The screen updates to display additional tasks.
  2. In the Export Schedules row, click Start.

    The Export Schedules screen appears.
  3. In the Job tree menu, select the departments and jobs for which to export schedules.
  4. Click Export Schedules.
  5. Make sure that the system can write to the hard drive; it should write a schedule.csv file to the root of C:\.

If the screen does not appear or Export Schedules does not run, contact your UniFocus representative.
