Calculated Report Lines

Use this function to create those calculated report lines. There are several combinations of these items that you can choose to calculate: Budget Line divided by Budget Line, Budget Line divided by KBI, KBI divided by Budget Line, or KBI divided by KBI. You can also use the Shift or Ctrl keys to select multiple Budget Lines and/or KBIs to make up one side of the calculation (Operand 1 or Operand 2). By using the Shift or Ctrl keys, you can select multiple KBIs.

Description

Identifies the calculated line.

Format

Choose how to display the values. The available formats are: Currency, Currency - No decimal, Percentage, and Integer.

Tag

Displays extra information that is needed for the report but not visible on the report. Specific, predetermined tags are used for each report and will be explained with the appropriate report. The Tag field is only used for the following reports: Owner by Period, Owner By Total, Payroll & Related Summary, Key Operating Stats, Profitability, Budget Labor Productivity, and Hotel Financial Report. This field should be left blank for all other reports.

Operand 1

Select the Budget line or KBI you want to perform the calculation.

Operand 2

  • Select the Budget line or KBI with which the operation will be performed.

    • Line Type—Determines whether the calculation is based on a Budget line or KBI line.
    • Value—Displays the unit of measure for the report.
      • Units—Displays the report data as a number of "things" the line will use in the calculation. Rooms, hours, covers, dollars, etc. are all units.
      • Rate—Displays data in dollar amounts.
      • Total—Displays data as totals.
      • Percent Of Line—Displays the data per your configuration in Configure/View Budget.

Creating Calculated Report Line

  1. Enter a Description.
  2. Select a Format.
  3. Enter a Tag only if you are configuring reports that use this field. For all other reports, leave this field blank.
  4. Select a Line Type and Format from the drop-down lists of Operand 1 and Operand 2.
  5. Click OK.
